Providing our clients genuine and impactful mental health treatment.
Who We Are
We are the founders of Monteverdi Psychotherapy Services. We have combined our skillsets and passions to create our therapy practice. We offer growth and wellness opportunities to individuals, couples, families and groups through the power of psychotherapy. We believe that the answers are already inside of you and with the right support of a trained therapist, you can experience real lasting change in your life and relationships!
We both became interested in supporting mental wellness and focusing on relationship healing after working through our own unhealthy patterns that were hindering our growth individually and in our marriage. Though we genuinely loved and cared for each other, we struggled to move forward and continued to feel stuck. After many of our own efforts, we chose to seek help and healing for our marriage. We both entered into our own recovery process and began to see the hard work pay off. We are better because of it and truly want others to experience that kind of transformation. Whether you are seeking help for your relationship on your own or entering therapy as a couple, we believe that with our own relatable experience, our own specialized training in Betrayal Trauma and Deceptive Sexuality Trauma, and as trained Gottman therapists, we can help.
Our Story
Eliza Monteverdi, MA, LMFT, CPTT
My name is Eliza Monteverdi and I have a practice in Westlake Village, CA. I was raised in Ventura County and entered into my own therapy over 10 years ago. It was such an eye opening and transformational experience that I decided to become a therapist myself.
I graduated with my Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from Azusa Pacific University in 2017 and became a licensed psychotherapist in 2020. Additionally, I am a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT) through International Institute of Addiction Professionals (IITAP). I have been providing counseling services in a private practice setting for 7 years. Throughout the years of building & establishing my private practice, I have been supporting individuals and families in various capacities.
During my clinical training and associateship, I worked at a Christian Counseling Center, Pepperdine University Counseling Center, Intensive Teen Treatment with Engage Therapy and Residential Treatment for Eating Disorders. From helping college students cope with big life transitions, to facilitating individual/group mental health recovery for adolescents and most recently leading betrayal support groups at a local church and independently in my own practice; helping people experience stability and true recovery are the core values in my therapy practice.
To deepen my ability to support clients, I have taken self/professional development courses on self compassion, emotion coaching, postpartum family care and braver living with Brene Brown. I am a firm believer in helping myself to better help others, so that is what I’ll continue to do.
